Waulkmill Cottage is a modernised semi detached country cottage lying in a garden setting in Glendaruel near the Kyles of Bute between the river Ruel, the Cowal walkway and the road to Tighnabruaich.

The cottage consists of:

* a sitting room with double bed-setee and dining facilities;
* small kitchen adjoining;
* bedroom with double bed, electric over-blanket and a large walk in cupboard;
* bathroom;
* electric central heating;
* washing machine;
* all windows double glazed;
* all equipment and furnishings recently renewed;
* Sky TV.

Occupancy is:

* from 4pm on the day of arrival
* till 10am on the day of departure.

We provide:

* bed linen and towels
* a welcome pack containing bread, butter, milk, biscuits tea and coffee.

The Area surrounding Waulkmill Cottage has many visitor attractions especially walking, fishing, sailing and golf.

* The Kyles of Bute (the narrow stretch of water between the Island of Bute and the mainland) is renowned for its scenery and attracts many sailing boats in summer.
* The ferry to Bute at Colintraive is only 15 minutes away.
* Tarbert and the Kintyre Peninsula are just 30 minutes away via the Portavadie ferry, and from there Inverary with its castle, jail and courthouse is just a 45 minutes drive and is well worth a visit.
* Dunoon – 30 minutes distant – provides ferry links across the Clyde to Gourock, from where the the Benmore Gardens with their famous arboretum are a short distance.
* Shopping is available in Dunoon, Rothesay or Tighnabruaich and butchers’ and fishmongers’ vans call regularly.

Walkers and hill walkers

…. will find much to do. The Cowal Walkway from Portavadie on Loch Fyne to Ardgarten on Loch Long is a challenge, while walking in the surrounding hills provides views of Glendaruel, Arran and the Hebrides.

To reach Waulkmill Cottage from Dunoon:

* take the A8 15 North through the village of Sandbank
* turn left onto the B836 to Glendaruel
* turn right onto the A886 to its junction with the B8003 to Tighnabruaich.
* The cottage is about 300 metres along the B8003 on the right just over the river bridge.
